Game Stats Lost

Unfortunately, we won’t be able view stats from any of the games this week. Stats for the games were lost; both JV and Varsity. There is no way to recover or recreate them. The video camera was full and couldn’t record all the games.

There was a mistake when uploading the stats. Rather than clicking “export” someone clicked “import”. It erased all the games that weren’t already uploaded to our website.

In the future, anyone who uploads stats at the games needs to stay away from that import button. Only export!

Girls Teams & Schedule

There are over 100 girls playing in the league this year! Because there are so many, we had to split the teams into Varsity and Junior Varsity. Here they are:

Sideline Positions and Uniforms

Sideline positions are key to the flow of league games. Please know when you are scheduled and arrive on time or early. Players who don’t show up to fill their sideline positions on time will be suspended for their game the following week. Talk to your captains about sideline positions or check the Google Calendar on the website to find out when you are scheduled.

Players are responsible for getting their own basketball uniforms this year. This is the fourth week of the league and there are still players who are playing without proper uniforms. League rules require JV and V players to have a black or white uniform with a number in order to play. We will allow two more weeks for players to get their uniforms. After those two weeks, players will not be allowed to play without the proper uniform.

Here is a link to a website with some good uniforms for cheap. Names and numbers can be added through the website or at Advanced Copy. Get them quick!

Fouls in the Last Two Minutes

In the games Wednesday night there was a question about fouls in the last two minutes. During the last two minutes of a game or overtime, if a player is fouled away from the ball, the offensive team should be awarded a technical free throw and possession. Any player can shoot the technical free throw.

NBA rules state it as follows:

Section X—Away-From-The-Play Foul

a. During the last two minutes of the fourth period and last two minutes of overtime period(s) with the offensive team in possession of the ball, all personal fouls which are assessed against the defensive team prior to the ball being released on a throw-in and/or away-from-the-play, shall be administered as follows:

(1) A personal foul and team foul shall be assessed and one free throw attempt shall be awarded. The free throw may be attempted by any player in the game at the time the personal foul was committed.

(2)  If the foul occurs when the ball is inbounds, the offended team shall be awarded the ball at the nearest point where play was interrupted but no nearer to the base- line than the free throw line extended.

(3)  If the foul occurs prior to the release on a throw-in, the offended team shall be awarded the ball at the original throw-in spot, with all privileges, if any, remain- ing.

2015-16 Schedules Updated

Varsity, JV, Junior and Development League schedules can be found here.

We gave the schedule a little bit of something extra this year. You can still download PDF versions of the schedule but we wanted to make it a little more convenient. A Google Calendar was set up showing each of the games. This calendar can be downloaded and viewed on any device that has digital calendars. This gives you the ability to have the schedule wherever you may go. Contact Dean or Garrett to learn how this can work for you.
